Today was Thai cooking day and then the bus to Bangkok. We got a Tuk-Tuk to the market where one of the chefs took us round the different stalls showing us the multitude of fruits and herbs that were available. It was quite interesting but I will never be able to remember them all!!
The Tuk-Tuk then took us to the kitchen where we would spend the rest of the day doing our cooking. We were made to wear aprons! This will be the first and the last time that Vickers wears an apron!! I did keep my clothes on underneath though so there's no need to worry!
We then chose six dishes that we wanted to cook. We all had our own table and cooking stove so you did actually do everything yourselves, which was pretty cool.
Lorna chose the following :
Pad Thai
Papaya Salad
Deep Fried Spring Rolls
Sweet & Sour Vegetables
Green Chicken Curry
Sticky Black Rice Pudding
For myself it was :
Fried Rice With Chicken & Ginger
Stir Fried Chicken in Coconut Sauce
Chicken Satay Skewers
Red Chicken Curry
Panang Chicken Curry
Stir Fried Chicken in Yellow Curry

All the food was edible, would you believe and Lorna didn't even burn the salad! Where she belongs
Where she belongs
! We also met a girl on the course called Carla who was actually studying at Nottingham Trent Uni. - small world. It was her and myself that kept getting told off by teacher! Apparently my attention span was very short, the chef lady (called Meow - yes as in a cat!) kept saying to me "Seeman, you no listen!". I think I got detention at one point!
We also did the big flame in the pan cooking. This was pretty cool and it's a good job I don't have any hair because the fringe would have been a goner!!
All in all this was a really good experience, the only thing lacking really was the fact there were no strippers or alcohol!! I do think Lorna looked the part (as a cook, not a stripper!), and I believe she belongs in the kitchen!!
After the kitchen fiasco finished we all got a recipe book and a certificate to take home - gave mine to the Wife!
We then headed back to the guesthouse to wait for our bus.
We were quite lucky with the bus as there were only about 20 people on it, so we all got a double seat each!!
The bus left at 7pm and was due to arrive in Bangkok at 6am, although we actually arrived at 7am, so not too bad. During the journey I played on the PSP, watched the film "Shooter" and watched some South Park. I did get about 3 hours sleep but not much more. Try and catch up later.
