This morning half the group left us as they were only on a one night trip, so it was just me, Lorna and the 5 Israelis left. They were a fun group and had some real interesting stories about life in Israel which was really enlightening.
After a toast and eggs breakfast at the homestay, we headed off for a full day of trekking through the jungle and along the river. This was a great day of trekking. Some of the scenery and landscapes were phenomenal.
Our first stop was at a local village called Huay Satun where we had a break for a drink and rest. We then headed off for another hour or so until we reached a waterfall camp. We had chance for a swim and shower in the waterfall before getting noodle soup for lunch. We then set off for another couple of hours or so, stopping at another waterfall to refresh, before we reached our homestay by the river for the night.
We got pork green curry for dinner tonight which, again, was good grub. The food has been great on this short trip and there has always been plenty available - which kept Lorna happy of course!!
This was a really good homestay. Our bamboo hut was actually open fully on one side, so from our mattresses we could see the river as we went to sleep - really cool. We spent the evening chatting and joking with the Israelis and teaching each other new cards games. We had a good laugh.
