After a visit to the local fruit stalls, we found a shop that could develop the photos from our waterproof camera we bought for tubing. We left it with them whilst we had a walk around the city. We visited a couple of temples called Wat Pa Pao and Wat Chiang Mun before popping back to the trekking company to confirm our trip for tomorrow. We then stopped by the Three Kings Statue before popping into Henry Restaurant for some lunch. This was a more local type of restaurant so I had a chicken green curry and Lorna had fried pork in ginger - both with rice. It was then that we realised that the owner/cook was clearly a ladyboy. She/He/It had a real attitude as well - so He/She/It has clearly got the female attributes right! Anyway, it threw it down whilst we were in the restaurant so we had to stay a bit longer in the company of Shim!
When it finally dried up (the weather that is, not the ladyboys crotch), we went across the road to visit Wat Pra Singh Something we saw from the street
Something we saw from the street
. This is probably the most impressive temple we have seen in Chiang Mai.
After the temple we went to pick up our tubing photos. Unfortunately only about 12 came out and even they were very grainy. You might just be able to make out my six-pack if you look closely! Lol! More like six-barrels! Oh well, never mind about the photos, we still had an awesome time tubing.
We then went back to the guesthouse to shower, change and pack our stuff for tomorrow. We are only taking our day bags and will be leaving our big backpacks with the tour company, so we have to make sure we have what we need - boots, rainjacket, vodka...you know the score!
In the evening we went back to the Chiang Mai Saloon as a bit of a treat as we knew we would only be eating local Thai food for the next 3 days. I had a mixed grill and Lorna had chicken & chips - it was heaven! We had some interesting topics of conversation during dinner including Lorna saying that she was looking forward to getting the sh*ts again because she wanted to lose some weight - freak!!
Not much more to report, just looking forward to tomorrow.
