I dragged Lorna out of bed this morning to take her to another guesthouse. The new guesthouse (can't remember the name at the moment) is a nicer place, has a tv in the bedroom - with cable and is cheaper! All works for me. We don't get free internet though, but that isn't a major factor.
On the way to the new place, we stopped off at the Scandinavian Bakery for some croissants - just to keep Lorna happy after waking her up so early - they were gooood.
The other reason for the move is the England match. Last night all the bars were closed when it came to kick off time (about 1am) so I was unable to watch the game live. However by moving guesthouse, I was able to watch a full re-run at 10am as if it was live. Not knowing the score helped to add to the atmosphere. After hurling abuse and obscenities at the tv for the first half of the game, I am pleased to say that we at least ended up with a victory - so it's not the end of the World - yet!
For lunch we headed back to the Scandinavian Bakery as we had enjoyed the lunch we had there the last time in Vientiane. It wasn't as good, but still very nice.
We didn't really do much after lunch, just checked out a few market stalls and passed a few more temples - yawn.
In the early evening we went to a place called "The Coconut Restaurant" for dinner. They did some really good food here and it was nice to sit on the edge of the street watching the night go by having a bite to eat and a Beer Lao. We had decided on going back early toninght to watch a film on the tele so their were no late night activities planned. After the film I discovered a sports channel that was showing all the American Football games.....until 6am!! It was fantastic. Strangely, Lorna fell asleep during the games!!
I was bound to be tired tomorrow...today...yesterday....whenever!
