Our overnight train arrived into Danang at about 5.20am. I say overnight "train", when I actually mean overnight "rattle cart"! It was a bumpy ride last night, and I don't just mean because of the curry I had eaten! We arrived safely though and jumped on our bus to the hotel - about 45 minutes away in Hoi An.
The hotel was really swanky - not what we are used to on this tour. We weren'y going to complain though. We even had a nice big pool as well!! However, due to lack of sleep, we jumped back in bed until about 11am to catch up on what we could. After this we headed down to Yaly's, a tailor shop in the town.
Suits, dresses, shirts etc and tailor made here and are really cheap compared to UK prices. Lorna has been wanting a dress for New Years Eve, so she has been measured up for one
The rest of the afternoon has been spent by the lovely pool - although I have stayed out of the sun a fair bit as I still have a bit of burn from the Island cruise we did a couple of days ago!!
This evening we went down to a bar called "Before N Now" I think. It was pretty good as we both spent the evening playing pool, table football and drinking cold beers. We also found time to eat there as well and all in all we had a good start to the evening. We then went back to the tailors for a fitting and my shirt fit perfectly. Lorna had a couple of minor adjustments needed to her dress, so we will be able to pick them up tomorrow afternoon.
On the way back to the hotel I was conned into another tailors shop where, somehow, another skirt got ordered and arranged for collection tomorrow!! I don't think it will fit me so no doubt I will have to give it to Lorna instead!!!
We got back to the hotel in time to watch Rocky Balboa on the Movie Channel - It's Cr*p!!

. I on the other hand just wanted a shirt, so I have plumped for a hand-embroided one. Yep, sounds gay to me as well, but hopefully it will be OK. We have to go back for a first fitting tonight, then maybe another tomorrow - they are really fast. The rest of the afternoon has been spent by the lovely pool - although I have stayed out of the sun a fair bit as I still have a bit of burn from the Island cruise we did a couple of days ago!!
