It was a 7am start this morning to get the bus back to Phnom Penh. Really have enjoyed our 4 days in Sihanoukville. It's been really relaxing and felt very much like a holiday when we were crashed out on the beach!
The bus journey was 4 hours again and I spent most of it on the PSP playing Football Manager (I have got Forest back in the Championship, Won the Johnstone Paints Trophy and got an FA Cup Semi Final with Man Utd to come - not bad for a first season in the hot seat!).
Once we got to Phnom Penh, we went straight to the post office. We wanted to send a load of booklets home as they were weighing me down. Also sent home the chopsticks and Hard Rock glasses. We are told they will take 3 to 5 months to get to England - speedy!! Also sent a couple of postcards to the parents.

We then jumped in a Tuk Tuk to the Lakeside area to look for some digs Simon's Gueshouse Bedroom

. We had no accommodation booked, but we had seen this area last time we were in Phnom Penh and fancied it. We came across a guesthouse called......Simon's! So of course, there was no arguing and in we went - only $10 a night including air con and cable. It was a pretty big rrom as well.

We went to a pub called the Flying Elephant for lunch and I had Chicken & Mash - it was lovely. It was also BUy 2 beers get one free at this place - so we did our bit for the community! Vodka redbulls were cheap as well, but at this time of day they would have turned me into the Flying Elephant I think, so we delayed the consumption of said product until the evening.

We then popped into the Irish Bar next door to our guesthouse just to socialise with the locals....however, there weren't any locals, so we just drank with other backpackers instead!

After a swift shower and change we headed off to a bar called The Wanderer for a game of pool and to partake in an event known as "Happy Hour". It basically involves people drinking lots of beer and paying hardly anything for it. It's a great time of day. And, incidently, because it's a "Happy Hour" it actually slows down time and the Happy "Hour" actually lasts for 3 Earth hours!!!.......OK, I can't fool anyone, I am truly a Happy Hour king now and when I see the sign....I have to partake Simon's Gueshouse Bedroom

As for the pool, well I whooped Lorna's ass. Although it was pretty close due to some strange new rule changes that only Lorna seemed to know about. Basically she got two shots every time it was her go and if I fouled, she then got 4. I was only ever allowed one shot at a time, even if I potted one. And finally, if she wasn't happy with the shot she had taken, she would put the balls back into position and then just take it again! These new rules are amazing.....but they still don't let cheats win Lorna!!! As the defeat started to sink in, I released that she was holding the pool cue with a little bit too much venom for my liking. Afraid that the cue might be coming into a close relationship with my rear end...I decided to disarm the cue terrorist and bribe her with a few more vodkas....it did the trick. Phew.

Next to The Wanderer Pub was a curry house called "The Curry Pot".....well, it would just be downright rude not to pop in after sinking a few of the amber beverages. And I have got to say that I am glad we did, it's the best curry we have had whilst on our travels. Definitely worth a visit if you are passing through.....talking of passing through....it does....straight through....within a couple of hours!!

We finished off at the Irish Bar before jumping into bed....when it came round for the fifth time I finally managed to get in it. Happy hours had taken their toll!

Yo dudes
Im sure I stayed at that guest house! Prob all look the same!? Glad to see old habits die hard and you are still in the drinking spirit. Not much changes here-still pissing down and we still piss heads-lots of piss really. great to see your photies and stories. Cambodia rocks. Nottingham doesnt. Is Lorna coping without hair straighteners?

Keep up the good work while us lot work our fingers to the bone in search of fullfillment.

Lots of Love,

The Sherratts.
