It was a nice lie in this morning, until 5am! Wwe had a 5.40 bus to take us to the airport for our flight to the land of many hidden penis - better known as Bangkok.
We were flying with Cathay Pacific this time and we left about 9am. Breakfast was pretty good on the flight, but everything else was pretty basic.
After arriving in SheMale land we got a taxi to our accommodation - Wendy Guesthouse. Yes, we were stopping in a wendy house - times are hard! Actually, even though it is pretty basic, the facilities are everything you need.
First thing we did was laundry - there were some strange smells coming from my rucksack and I am sure some sort of new life form had been developed near the bottom! (The bottom of my bag that is, not my noisy back door).
We then walked across to the MBK Centre, and immediately I went numb! This is a shoppers heaven! Lorna and I then looked each other in the eyes like two cowboys ready at a showdown, then we were off - Lorna trying to buy everything she could, whilst I was on the phone trying to cancel all our debit & credit cards! Alas, I was too slow, and we will be returning home from our travels tomorrow with a load of junk to sell at Sunday's car boot sale!
What made things worse was that Lorna also found the food court on the 5th floor! This was an impressive place, with food from over 15 different nationalities
After surviving the MBK we took a walk down Sukumvit and found the go-go bars. They seem very quiet and restful during the day, just like a predator awaiting its prey! We may have to check this out later, mmmmm!
As it happens, it was decided that we would hit a Thai restaurant tonight instead.
We got a Skytrain to and from the restaurant. It's like an underground, but....well......overground, about 20 metres above the street. It's pretty neat and it looks like some sort of space age city from the ground - except its all concrete. It's dirt cheap travel though and you do get a birds eye view of everything.
The food at the restaurant (Tanman Thai Restaurant) was excellent. We had duck red curry and chicken green curry and it hit the right spot.
We the popped to the pub next door which was called The Black Swan! Yes, they have a Mucky Duck in Bangkok! It doesn't have a patch on Mansfield's version though. There was no sick on the floor, no cheesey music, no stains on the seats and no slapper gagging for it in the corner! Oh well, you can't have everything.

. Lorna thought it was some sort of challenge to go through them all! (Why is this woman not 30 stone!).After surviving the MBK we took a walk down Sukumvit and found the go-go bars.
