It's not a bloody ant hill at all!!
We were up at 5am today so that we could get our 5.30am taxi to the foot of the mountain for a 6.30am start.

We then had a choice. The mountain walk we were doing comes in three parts, up the west, across & up and then down the east. For the up part and the down par, you can use a cable car if you want (by the way, this was another rip off by Geckos - I will explain in my summary at the end of the tour).
Me, Lorna, Jilly & Claire had already decided we wanted to walk the lot (7.5km up, 10km across & up, 7.5km down). We actually did 12km at the top due to an unforeseen detour! All the rest of the group got the cabble car up, saving themselves about 2 hours.

I have got to say the walking up part is hard work, but there are some fabulous views and it is really satisfying when you reach what you think is the top, in one peace. The reason it's not the top is because the across bit is actually also up!
There were some really tough bits, especially after walking the first section as well. We sometimes had to keep ourselves going with singalongs and many A-Z games including Countries, Cities, Capital Cities, Animals, Names, Rude words, Music Artists etc etc.
Some of the views we saw had some weird names as well like "Heavenly Dog Watching the Moon", "The Peacock Playing the Lotus", "Turtle Carrying Gold Turtle" and "Zhubajie Eating the Waremelon". Fascinating stuff.
During this walk, the girls also decided that sweaty Chinese men smell like sperm! I have no idea how that conversation got started at all!
When we got to the Jade Screen Station, which is the start of our descent, we actually caught up with the rest of the group which had used the cable car - we had made up 2 and a half hours on them! Bloody lightweights!
Anyway, including all our stop offs for photo's and our breakfast & lunch breaks, the 4 of us completed the full trek in 8.5 hours, so we were back at the bottom for 3pm. We were very happy, but aching people. A shower and long bath were the order of the day.
We went out for something to eat in the evening as it was Maddy's birthday. This is where International relations were put to the test as we explained that England is the major country and that Australia, Canada & the USA are just satelitte branches of our empire!! That started off some interesting conversations!
After winning the argument on many occasions we decided to hit the sack as everyone was knackered.

We do have mountains here you know!
Hiya
Well very impressive, mainly that you were all up at 5am! Seriously it does look wonderful and you all did very well, but then you are all so young....
What is the inscription on the rock at the top?
Accomodation looks pretty good so far. What's the food been like lately?
Look out for our travel blog next week when the Morris sisters hit Norfolk! You will be in my thoughts at yoga tomorrow morning.
Ciao for now
Lots love xxxxxxx
