Today we were up early to get another bullet train, this time to Hangzhou. This one took 1 and a quarter hours, but only reached a top speed of 170km/hour - boo!
The time in Hangzhou was basically a stop off on the way to our Yellow Mountain trek, but I have to say it is a very lovely place around the West Lake area.
The day was spent on a chilled walk around the lake - well as chilled as you can get in 35 degree heat anyway. After a couple of hours walking, we met up with Claire & Jilly and decided to stop off at a lakeside café from a cold one. We got a table outside overlooking the lake....and stayed there a few hours. Singing and dancing was the order of the day on the way back to the hotel to meet the others at 7pm, so you can guess how many cold ones were consumed!!
After we met up with Team C, we headed off to the night market and an area called "Snack Street"
After the savage attack had finished, we all had a walk round the night market and then headed back for bed. We're off to some big hill tomorrow!

West Lake
. They sold everything, skewers, rice, whole chickens (including head & feet), duck, rat...yes rat! And much much more. Jilly did purchase a beggars chicken for the 4 of us, but didn't realise it cam with all limbs attached....the squeal was quite deafening. Claire didn't look too healthy either. However, this had no effect on Lorna, nothing was getting between her and food, and she savaged the poor little chicken to bits! It was a bit like those cartolns where they put a whole chicken in their mouth and then just pull out the skeleton!! The girl needs help! After the savage attack had finished, we all had a walk round the night market and then headed back for bed. We're off to some big hill tomorrow!
