Today was a bit of a dull one actually. We didn't have much time to do anything as we were heading to the train station in the afternoon for our sleeper train to Suzhou.
We did go to the post office to send some stuff we have bought, back to England. Both Mum's need to watch out for a parcel arriving. No need to panic yet though. The China way of sending stuff means that it has to go via the moon, on the back of a snail! This is the only explanation I have for our quoted delivery time of TWO MONTHS!! To be fair, we did request the cheapest type if postage, sooo I think it comes via the sea & surface post. I have total faith on its arrival in the UK.....honest!
The whole Post Office saga took about 90mins, so we decided to get some lunch at the Beijing version of the Sakura Café. Again, this was good food and beer at very reasonable prices.
After lunch it was off to Hard Rock Café for a drink and shot glass collection.
Then it was back to the hotel to collect our bags for the sleeper train. Most discussiins on the train revolved around advice from Claire & Jilly about their time in SE Asia, which they had done just prior to joining us in Hong Kong. We got some good info and recommendations.
