Off down to the Big Smoke
Well today was the day - we were off!! We set off from home at 9am this morning. We went into Mansfield first to visit my Gran's grave to say Happy Birthday, she would have been 85 today (she only died last November). We left her a large bunch of Pink Carnations which are her favourite type of flower then we headed off down to the big smoke.
We have to thank my Mother & Father for a lift to London as this saved us a considerable amount on the old train fare, but I am their only son so I am sure they were glad to do it really!! Lol.
We had decided to go down to London a day early so we could have a bit more time tomorrow morning. Having got stuck twice on the M1 due to accidents and numpty drivers, it turns out to have been a good idea as we wouldn't have wanted to jump straight onto a 12 hour flight after that journey.
Anyway, the detoxing hasn't worked in the slightest as we spent all afternoon, and evening, and night frequenting a large volume of London's public houses.....just to be sociable of course!
We spent the evening at the Premier Inn at Heathrow, hopefully this would be our most expensive hotel on the whole journey - 100GBP for the night!!!! The all you can eat breakfast that was included in the price was of course abused to the extreme. Obviously, all you people that know Lorna will realise that Premier Travel Inn nearly went into liquidation by the time she had finished her 30 or so visits to the buffet!!!
