Jack Daniels Distillery
Guess where I went today? Clue: It begins with Jack and ends with Daniels Distillery. Still not sure? It's the Jack Daniels Distillery baby. Loads of fun, even if I don't drink it. (Vicky, seriously, no country music, no JD? Do you value your life at all?!)I'd go through all the different stages but I really can't be bothered. But suffice to say, there were plenty of different aromas to be experienced; some more pleasant than others. My own favourite was the barrel room where they store the barrels for ageing. You could actually breath in the vapours. My way to describe it would be kind of like sticking your head inside a chocolate liquor and inhaling deeply! That kind of vapour smell.

I also know what I would like just for sheer coolness. A whole barrel of JD. They bottle it up for you in presentation bottles, you get to keep the barrel, signed by the master distiller, and your name goes on a gold plaque at the distillery. All for the bargain price of $10-$14,000!After our free glass of lemonade at the distillery (mmm, that's dry county for ya) we went into Lynchburg itself. This was a very strange experience. There really isn't all that much to it, except for JD gift shop. Oh, and some guys came along in a cherry picker to right the weather vain that had toppled over on top of the band stand.

Also went to the Tennessee Walking Horse Museum. If ever they wanted to do an American League of Gentlemen, and they were looking for a lady to play the American version of the charity shop women, I think I may have found just the candidate! She kept forcing leaflets on me. Sweet, but agghhhh at the same time.
