So, time to leave Lexington.  Awww, damn....!

 Heading on down to Nashville.  Unfortunately, first I had to head up to Cincinnati again to change buses.  Bit annoying.  I mean, I liked Cincinnati, but I didn't really feel the need to visit again so soon.  Arrived at my hostel after losing an hour of my life. Or gaining one, I'm not sure.  They're an hour behind in Nashville (no jokes please).  There was a bit of a mix up with my booking but it totally didn't matter.  For one night I was on an air bed in the office of the hostel owners quarters!  They have a little puppy called Google; she's a Boston Terrier, so cute and bog-eyed and lively.  Obsessed with licking feet and lying on her tummy while you spin her round or tickle her.  OK, so American places are all big, but American dogs all have to be small!

 Anyway, the reason for my unusual sleeping arrangements is that I've come to Nashville on the last night of the CMA Festival (Country Music Association).  So when I headed down to Nashville it sure was buzzing.  I felt soooo overdressed in my knee length linen skirt and cheesecloth top.  And the hat, in all its trilby glory, was not welcome.  Went into a few bars to listen to some music but I don't really like country music (shhhhhhhhhhh, Vicky, you'll be rhinestoned to death!!!!).  Nashville's strangest sight?  A skinny man, a skinny skinny man, in denim shorts, tiny tiny shorts, cow boy boots and cow boy hat, and nothing else!

Had the most amazing vegetable lasagne I've ever had in my life.  Then felt like I'd paid my dues and headed back to the hostel, just as everyone was heading out for the night!

My, my, they sure know how to sleep in Nashville.  Or at least, I do!  Didn't wake up until about 11am, despite Google's best efforts!

 My first stop was the Country Music Hall of Fame.  Pretty interesting, even if you're not a country fan (shhhhhhhhh Vicky!)  My favourite exhibit included the most tasteless car I've ever seen in my life, which had guns for door handles, and the majority of other parts, and a saddle for a gear box.  Mmm, tasteful.  Almost as tasteful as Elvis' solid gold Cadillac.  Another highlight was in the William's Family exhibit.  It was a collection of squirrels shot by Hank Williams.  And arranged by a taxidermist into a tiny squirrel band.  Correction, Nashville's strangest sight!!

Also had my first real American bar experience, involving a drink (coke mum, coke - sorry to disappoint).  Went to pay and the cute barman was like, 'nah, this one's on me'.  Score one for the hair!  Or yellow hot pants?  Or accent?!  Or visually impaired bar staff, who knows!

That was certainly Vicky's strangest blog! I'd love to see a picture of the man in the shorts. Glad to hear you've established a strong coke habit! Think you should steal the tasteless car and just travel in that from now on...
