Another day, another state, another hotel.  Oooh, my wallet feelin' the buuurn!

Lexington is another unscheduled stop or I would find myself in Nashville during the country music awards (see also 'no rooms', and 'those that are free are three times the price'.)  It sounded OK in the guest book, a few things to do.  Perhaps it was because it was so hot when I got off the bus and I was tired, but my first thought was 'where the hell am I?'  and my second thought was 'WHY?'!  It may also have had something to do with the fact that the Greyhound bus stop was in the middle of nowhere, and the local bus stop into "town" was across a road (see also 'six lanes of traffic'.  Six lanes?  To me that equals motorway!) And it was by a WalMart.  I hate these places, they are soul destroying, but I had to sit in the most salubrious of bus "shelters" waiting for a "bus" into "town".  (Bus didn't need quotations, I was just swept away in the moment)

Once I got there, wherever there was, again the same two thoughts crept, nay, slammed themselves into my brain.  Traveling may be taking it's toll.

Found the tourist information and the lady in there talked so slowly and looked so bemused by every question that I asked that I'm guessing they don't get tourists in these parts very often.  Or maybe it was my hair; m beautiful hair!

Lexington?  No attractions within walking distance and apparently, no buses to anywhere ever.  "Buses" it is then!

Got a taxi to my hotel, cursing every moment.  It was only three pm bu I went to bed straight away.  Well it's costing a fortune so thought I better make the most of it.  It has a wonderful location too, an entirely different industrial park feel to the one I arrived in.  NOT.

Went to get a pizza.  It arrived in Sub form.  What the hell?!  Has the world gone mad.

Retreated back to bed.  Perhaps I'll give Lexington another try in the morning...or perhaps I'll just stay in bed!
