After the battering in the campings below freezing temperature we managed to sleep well past 9am and recovered all the heat and energies we had lost.
We grabbed our car and drove along to Salt Lake City...quite a few hours away. On the way there we stopped at Antelope Island National Park hoping it would have sights similar to those of the Salt Flats of Bolivia. However the views (though nice) are far from the scenery expected....its just a nice salty lake in the middle of a desert!
Additionally it was way too hot to hike anywhere so we just enjoyed a good salad and sandwich at a picnic table before moving onto Salt Lake City.
Having secured a place at the closest Motel 6 we went for a walk around the Mormon Headquarters
One thing we did notice...latinos are starting to appear in considerable numbers in shops, hotels, etc. We are getting closer to California!
Interesting to see how the financial markets are doing in US at the
moment...everything seems to be collapsing fast. We did however enjoy
ourselves with the first Presidential debate with McCain vs Obama.
Makes you wonder....

Lunch at Salt Lake
. A nice organised city centre, with lots of nice clean buildings, and lots of nicely dressed mormons offering to show you round their HQ. One hour was sufficient for us. The pictures show all there is...luckily it was on our path, but hardly worth travelling to (unless you are a mormon of course...)One thing we did notice...latinos are starting to appear in considerable numbers in shops, hotels, etc. We are getting closer to California!
