Where I stayed
Apart from a couple of the team, no one really likes sand or beaches too much, but somehow we spent well into 4 hours at the beach....time flies when in good company! We guess it had to do with all the activities:
- seashell searching along the beach
- Don showing his wife in public (joke only understandable by close friends...)
- Beach American Football (including wave jumping style)
When we returned home, as if the beach sport had not been sufficient we tried some wiffle ball games, which only lasted a few minutes due to the europeans incapability of understanding the game
The time had come to try Chef Ricks wonderful fish cooking. He tried three different styles with the stripped bass:
- melange of pupurri, onion and mushrooms
It was seriously difficult to decide on which one was the best of the three. A supreme effort. Just in case anyone was left hungry there were also hot dogs, hamburgers, diverse snacks and a finger licking salad, all greased down by several brands of wine.
A final effort to meet swimmer Phelps 12,000 calorie a day diet lead us to have an ice cream at the Wellfleet pier (and boy do they know how to make good ices there!). We would need it later when we took a detour on the way back to walk along the cemetry in pitch dark conditions. A few minutes to remember!
End of night (well into the next day) with some Scrabble challenges. Now that is a complete day!
