Where I stayed
The volcano is still active and has a huge crater (second in size worldwide) which is full of acid water. If one is lucky enough to get early and see the clouds disappear, the vision is incredible. Somehow we managed, as normally from May to December it is constantly covered.
The pictures detail everything. The only bad part...it is incredibly popular and all the bus tourists arrive in masses around 8-9am (mostly annoying USA students who think shouting is the normal voice tone and keep using the word 'like' as if there was no other vocabulary around...)
After a few hours trekking around, off we parted to get to another amazing volcano....Volcan Arenal...an even more active one.
