Day 4 of the Trek - and the last one in the "W" shape which "everyone" tries was simple...12 kms up to a Glacier, and 12 kms back...simple!

Again, luckily I managed to get an early start - leaving at 8 am, as the winds later started with strength at 60kms hour and made progress slow and difficult. I was quite surprised to see that our micro-tent survived all these deadly winds given its cheap manufacture. However, given its dwarfness it did manage to hide under a bush and avoid most of the winds...!

The final walking day was again challenging to the bones, muscles, blisters, etc but well worth it when I managed to sit down in front of the Grey Glacier and the floating icebergs...pictures again will explain this better.

I returned with little else to report, except another 24 kilometres done, and a desire for a long, long shower....

The question about what to do the next day would be my topic for the night. I could either get a catamaran boat back to the starting point as every other tourist and trekker that does the "W" route or try to do something slightly different and feel a bit more proud about it.

Option 1 - 81 kilometres in 3 days since we started the real walking and being able to say I had done the "W" route

Option 2 - an additional 18 kilometres on my blisters and  doing a path that a small percentage of the visitors do

For my decision...read on "Day 5"  :-)
