Happily we arrived in Villarica, only 89 km south of Temuco.

We enjoy so much the green here everywhere! By chance we ended up in a lovely hospedaje called "Ely" (in calle Bilbao), with a little cat, a Boxer puppy called Bongo, a chimney, and a lovely family hosting this place.

Originally we where looking for a Swiss run place in the same street, thank god we took a wrong turn (this proves to be a quite successful strategy for us). We are paying around 10 euros per night, and I am sitting at this family computer updating the page.

Later we found the Swiss place, hosted by a grumpy Swiss lady, who reluctantly allowed us to swap a book (quite a common practice here in travelplaces).

We had a lovely walk down to the lake with great views on the volcano Villarica, which is always a little bit of a smoker, and the recently errupted Vulcano Llaima. Hope it comes out in the pic: The crater is huge, and the lava made big traces in the snow hat usually caps this volcano.

Tomorrow we take an ealry bus to Pucon, only 20 km from here, but a tourist place. The plan is to rent a bike and go to Ojos de Caburga.
