Having lived in CT now for almost a year and not yet having hiked up Lions' Head, I jumped at the opportunity when I received an invite to do a hike up, watch the sun set and the full moon rise...

Sam (my golden retriever) managed the hike perfectly well, only needing to be carried up a few ladders and to take the long way round up a set of chains while the rest of us attempted at pulling our body weight up to the top. We saw a few people descend saying that the top was completely overcrowded and that it wasn't great fun. We carried on up regardless....

... and what a rewarding evening!!! Not only was there not a breeze on the mountain. The air was completely calm and quiet. People were in joyous moods, playing guitar, drinking wine, eating snacks, taking photos and just generally enjoying the atmosphere. It was perfect! We stayed there a fair while before attempting at descending down the mountain finding our footing by moonlight only!!

Definitely worth doing again!!
