It has a beautiful landscape, the coastline on on side of the town and mountain ranges on the other makes the place a spectacular view. We stopped here for a brief lunch which heading to our other destinations.
It has a small canal going through the town, with little shops and humble neighbourhood with almost zero crime rate happening here.
Once we parked as we had as little as 30 minutes, I quickly walked around this little town taking as many photographs as possible and then head to a little restaurant to try the Fish & Chips Australian style.
Unlike here in Malaysia where the fish is already decided by the vendor, you get to choose the type of fish that you would prefer to have.Very fast service at the diner but it is pretty much self service.
Unlike that of Malaysia where you would be served in plates along with the sauces, here it is all wrapped in paper and you would have to find a spot to sit and enjoy your meal. The restaurant itself only has one table for some guests who would like to sit down. I do not blame them for this. Though contrary to the culture in Asia, I found many Australians have their fish and chips while walking and chit chatting with friends. This was a new experience for me.
Initially I had some problem too trying to have it the same way but sooner or later I managed to get use to it. Besides this, I also discovered my favorite Bundaberg Ginger Beer drink which is scantily available in Malaysia and at an exorbitant price.
On the whole, this was a great stop. The thing that I loved most about this town was the serene feeling, cold wind gushing through and the sound of sea gulls everywhere. Now, time to head on to the next destination.
