What I did
i-City...The City of LED Lights
Luckily, it was still open but to my surprise, the ticket prices have gone up much higher from the previous visit. Well, in total it cost me close to RM 200 for the four of us. The ticket includes free rental of the winter clothing but no gloves or the appropriate foot wear. If you want those, it is a separate pricing all together.
We got the tickets and as it was almost midnight, we got immediate access. This place is quite huge and the temperature is maintained at 0 degrees Celsius. It was definitely freezing especially for us who came in with slippers. Whenever out toes hit the ice on the floor, it became numb and then within a few seconds it started hurting.
But hey, we were here to enjoy the chill and so should we. We walked around the snow house. It is filled with artificially created ice structures. Some are also made of polycarbonate, especially the snow man and the igloo.
There is also an area for children to do skiing and snow gliding but I did not see that many people there today. The main crowd from my observation was university students and couples.
After a short while, my mother could not take the chill and she was the first to exit while we still remained inside for at least another 20 minutes.
Once out, we returned the winter clothing and then headed out to walk in the LED lights attraction areas. The entire area is well lit with these LED lights and that is how they are trying to position and promote this place.
A good tourism initiative by the local state government. We walked around the whole are till almost 2 am and then it was time to head back home. My parents were surely tired from the long walk and I am sure they would be looking forward to a good nights rest.
