We're back in Christchurch already.... and it's very warm here. We spent the last couple of weeks in Wisconsin where it is colder than it is in Antarctica right now. After 3 months of vacationing, we're actually both ready to go back to our "normal" lives at McMurdo. After many flights including a harrowing one (strong turbulence) out of Denver to L.A. we finally made it here safe and sound. Christchurch is as great as it was when we left--a very friendly, easy city to visit. Tonight we're going for Indian food at one of our favorite places. Today is a nap day after all that flying though. The Windsor B&B is where we chose to stay on the way in--a little more expensive than we usually choose but great atmosphere and they completely take care of us as far as getting us up on time, packing us a flight snack and arranging all of our shuttles. We're here with a group of about 20 and all of us are hoping that our flight gets delayed and we get to stay longer. Tomorrow, we have to be at the Clothing Distribution Center (aka CDC) to have our winter clothing issued to us and Friday we report for our flight. Overall, a much funner experience than the first time we came down (not knowing anything). This time we know where to go to eat and shop, plus we already have friends to meet up with.
