In the city of Lund just inland of Lomma, is home to one of the oldest and largest universities in Sweden. Both Staffan's father and brother attended the civil engineering master's programs there. But instead of attending classes or hearing lectures we headed to the museum that is housed on the campus. The Lund Sketch Museum is located at the heart of the campus and is a collection of works that were at the beginning stages of conception and some that were only realized as sketches to begin with. Many works of art hailed from Sweden naturally, but they also had an array of works from Mexico, South Africa, and various other countries. Unfortunately I was unable to take pictures in the museum so I settled for pics of the outdoor area where they have a sculpture garden as well as some sculpted murals on the wall of the buildings. If given the chance I would have taken pictures of the works by Henri Matisse. His sketches were large in size and the canvases looked like just pieces of smaller paper glued together to enable a larger space to work with. The sketches featured the stations of the cross and the Virgin and child. An overall interesting museum for usage of sketch work and enlightening one on the artistic process at work.
