Day 47

So final plans still aren't set for me but the Freudenbergers want to show me a park in San Jose in the morning. We take the dogs out to the park to run around. I haven't had a chance to introduce the Freudenberger dogs...

Shadow is the smaller of the two dogs, husky and they got him from the pound. Frank is the bigger wolf and a funny character. He likes to do bad things and put the puppy dog face on as a big dog. Terri joined us on that park walk and brought her dogs Gabby, Scout (with one eye) and Shadow (no relation). Terri, Tanya, Peter, Sarah and I strolled around with the dogs and I heard all about the story of the dogs. We also talked about Rocks, the oldest Freudenberger dog who passed away a few months ago. He lived a good life and gave much joy to the Freudenbergers. We stopped by the Sillicon Valley Community Center so that Tanya could open up and Peter, Tanya and I did gongyo.

We took the opportunity to stop by Gabriella's place one last time to check in on the turtles and the finished product turtle house. It's finished and beautiful! It was kind of neat to see that project through from beginning to end. Dan desire came true: we have a beautiful home for the turtles. I don't know Gabriella but I have a feeling she would have loved to see how it turned out.

I had been in touch with Lisa Noon since she got back from Florida and the Student Division Conference at the FNCC. She was home after a great weekend there and I wanted to chant and pick her brain about how it went so she invited me over to chant with her mother. I got to visit her at her beautiful house again and chant with her and her mother for a hour and a half. Afterwards we talked about the time she had at the conference and what she was able to get out of it. She gave me a lot of good insight on what the conference was like... I wish I was there! But I have my own mission where I am...

My plans are to hang out in Sacramento soon but I talked to Diana who told me I could stay with her and we shifted plans so that I would go up there tomorrow night. So I spent more time than I thought I would with Lisa, her mom Ellen and her brother Jeffrey. They were gonna go out to party with a Kenyan family they knew but I also wanted to spend time with Peter back at the Freudenberger home so they invited me to walk with them tomorrow morning if I had the time. I went back to the house where we were getting ready to play poker with a friend Amy.

Amy is a leader in the Sunshine District and emceed our meeting on Tuesday. She came to play some poker in the garage and we had the mafia game feel going (I had to go get some cash). Peter, Tanya, Amy and I went at for quite some time, sharing stories of relatives and friends and other episodes of card playing. I was planning on winning gas money out of the deal but it didn't work out that way as Amy stole the show with her cunning. Better luck next time.
