Day 44
It's Monday again. People work. But before Tanya is running out and about, we worked on the wireless router that she couldn't get to work before. I play with it a little while and after calling the support guy for a short while to get some info, I get it to work! That means wireless in the house! But I decided to catch up on my writing and napping soon after.
Chinnamma, Tanya's friend, came over later with her kids later to play in the pool. She was an Indian woman that worked wanted to be a nun but came to the United States and has a family. Tanya told me that Chinnamma had worked with Mother Teresa before back in India and has many wonderful experiences doing what she did. I played with the kids, Sammy and Benny, their friend Ryan and the dogs they brought over.
Tanya set up a dinner for me later in the day to meet John and Karen, a few local SGI members for some sushi at Sushimaru. At the restaurant, I got a chance to talk to them about how I know the Freudenbergers and what activities are like in the San Jose area. They also highlighted the significance of this project. SGI discussion meetings, John said, are the venue in which we learn how to do our human revolution. In other words, they are the setting in which we can grasp a fundamental understanding of our lives with family and friends in the local area, our community. I thought this idea encapsulated my project perfectly. John and Karen made sure they let me know that what I'm doing with this trip was more significant than what it looked like on the surface but really paving the path for others, especially youth to follow their dreams and use this Buddhist practice to the fullest!
Later that night, Tanya had us planned to see some movies at the Drive-In Movie Theater in town. She was so excited for letting me in on my first drive-in experience, it was funny. I thought about her in her day and if that was the thing to do
Tomorrow night Peter comes back home to San Jose with his fiancee and we have an impromptu discussion meeting to celebrate them being back. Fun fun!

Great dialogue with John and Karen!
I didn't get into the pool but I was tossing nerf balls to them as they dove off the diving board, doing flips and 360s. I got to relax some and be out in the sun.Tanya set up a dinner for me later in the day to meet John and Karen, a few local SGI members for some sushi at Sushimaru. the line at the theater
. The idea sounded awesome. We went to it (it doubles as a flea market during the day on the weekends) and watched two movies. You get two movies with each ticket purchase. So we watched Get Smart and also Indiana Jones. You park your car and turn the radio to a certain station to get the audio feed to the movie. It was quite the trip. Tanya busted out the cooler of drinks and popcorn. You don't have to buy it there!! And our tickets were under 7 dollars, it was amazing! If they're that cheap everywhere then I'm finding the drive-in and watching movies from now on. New experiences are indeed great.Tomorrow night Peter comes back home to San Jose with his fiancee and we have an impromptu discussion meeting to celebrate them being back. Fun fun!
