Where I stayed
It's hard to do your work when you're having so much fun. I think Carrie is like that for me. I have too much fun around her! I have to find a place to check e-mail and such. Carrie loves to go to the Nomad Cafe where they have great lattes and free wireless internet.
I got myself a coconut pineapple juice and I was set. Caught up on checking e-mail but not enough time to get all the writing and such finished. Carrie and I talked about what else we could do for the day. We decided on the Berkeley Science Center and Cesar Chavez. The Science Center is actually on top of a hill where you can see a lot of Berkeley and out to San Francisco. Cesar Chavez Park is where Carrie goes a lot to hang out because the view is so beautiful.
Carrie had some plants that she wanted Abby to keep while she was gone so we stopped there before the Science Center, it was one the way. Carrie drove us and we climbed the hill up to the top where, it's true, you could see everything from Oakland to San Francisco. Carrie is so sensative about views and nature that it wasn't hard to believe that she knows where it's best to see the city green from. There are a lot of trees for such a populated area.
From there on to Cesar Chavez. It's a park in an area that's right on the water of the bay. We saw the boats and marina and I was trying to talk Carrie into the marina life since she's been so money conscious lately. But from there, was an amazing view where you can catch the sight of Oakland, San Fran and beyond. You see both the Bay Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge. Also, Alacatraz Island can be seen from there. While we spent time walking around there, we saw the wind surfing guy on a skateboard. The older man was definitely having some fun out there. It was fun to watch.
We were set to meet Carrie's SGI friends Mai and Alice at her place. We ended up chanting together and talking about Carrie's plans on where she'll be practicing since she'll be in San Francisco after she comes back from hanging out in Maryland for the summer with her family
After that, we talked movies and decided that we were going to watch The Incredible Hulk. Now, Carrie is not huge on superhero movies but I convinced her to go see Ironman and she loved it. I felt the same was going to happen this time around except that I'd be there to say, "See?" Before that, there was matter of food. Since Carrie is a vegan, it was a bit of a struggle but we found a burrito place that sufficed. We went on to watch the movie after and had a great time. It was a well made movie. Edward Norton, again, awesome. And now its late for time to sleep after a fun day.
