There is a brilliant lagoon 15 minutes from home, where the snorkelling is just great. Always plenty to see, and sometimes some of the larger critters make an appearance too.
Spent Saturday morning snorkelling there. There we were, minding our own business when suddenly a little sea lion turned up out of the blue. He ended up playing with us for half an hour. Brilliant.
On Sunday Alfredo took us up Sierra Negra for a look. Absolutely amazing. I mean we have volcanoes in NZ, but this is the second largest active volcano in the world. It's HUGE! 9km N/S and 11km E/W, smoke seeping out from cracks and fumeroles, sulphur pits, mini-volcanoes, this one has the lot! No glowing red lava though, which is a bit of a shame...
Views of the island weren't too shabby either just quietly. Nice.
Very relaxed life style here, loving it!
