Charleston is simply beautiful, For Kiwi's, it has alot in common to Ponsonby with the old district, cafes, shops etc. Very flat so travelling, shopping and sight seeing is easily done on foot or cycle. I suggest cycling around trown first to have a good look around and pick the places you want to visit.
Really wanted to stay longer, however, as we were near the end of our trip, did not have the time. Rose and I both agree, we will definitely come back here. It has turned out to be one of those special places. ; ; ; ; ; ; ;
Above, the old slave market building, really creepy!!!! Used as a typical nic nacs market these days. We found another Harley shop, bought now our 4 or 5th T shirt. Charleston has everything for us. Very beautiful, good shops, excellent food, easy travel and central accomodation.
Once again, thank you to Rick and Chris for taking us here. On the way down, we stopped at a Bikers restaurant below. Unfortunately it is now only open on weekends.
Bugger, I wanted to buy several of their T-shirts. Dinner was fantastic, possibly the best restaurant in town was right next door to Elliot House.
On the way back to Wilmington, we stopped at Georgetown where Rick and Chris buy their supplies of Shrimps, (we would call them King Prawns). They only buy 5 Kilos at a time.
I only took one decent photo here, however, looks like something from Forest Gump.
What do you think?
Well with all good things we arrived back to Wilmington where we bought our last supplies for home, to some of my friends, this meant Leathermans. If you don't know what these are, just ask?
