The city fathers are not so daft after all. There is a venue to watch the sunset and have a beer. According to Tess and Gavin from my school (who are Beautiful People) Cafe del Mar has branches wherever Beautiful People gather. As beer was 3x more than usual and a cocktail was more than my room I'll have to postpone further visits till Jon gets here.
This was an outing with my fellow students - Brits, Ozzies, Yanks and Euros - and it made a change to here some trance music instead of the ubiquitous salsa. But by the same token we could have been Anywheresville sur mer.
Had the day off school today as my teacher Leidy ('Lady") couldn't come in, so spent the day at the beach - I'm warming to it. We'll have to start earlier and finish later to make up though, as Tess - my co absolute beginner - is only doing 1 week.
What with Lady and all the Vicky Pollards perhaps I'm in Little Britain.
After a week in Colombia I've finally had rice and beans for dinner, and jolly delicious it was too. There's a chain called Kokoriko, which is a bit KFC and a bit McD and a bit Jo's Chicken Inato (from the Philippines). The branch in the old town is really quite grand, but the local one in Getsemani is much lower rent. Anyway, if you have chicken on the bone or any sort of finger food, you are provided with a pair of plastic gloves. How cool is that?
