Arrived safe and sound in Cartagena about 10pm Wednesday UK time having set off about 2.30pm on Tuesday.  I was in such a daze from the move that it wasnīt till I was driving along the beach road from the airport into town that it sank in.  The new adventureīs started. The Virgin flight was fine, movies, meals presents, even slept a bit. Had a most interesting night at JFK airport.  Only circular concrete benches around pillars  left to stretch out on (well hunch in a Quasimodo kind of way actually) - the straight benches were all occupied by about 8pm.  It was OK though with my cushion and pashmina, I slept a bit more despite the constant announcements not to leave my luggage unattended and the like.  Trouble was when I needed a pee, I couldnīt take all my bags with me or someone would nick my primo location - more important than nicking my bags at that point.  Had to wait till the security guards had patrolled past me and make a dash for it - rather like in a POW movie.  By 4am I was ready for breakfast and happily Terminal 4 is a 24 hour place.  However I discovered that Terminal 3 (for Miami flight) had much comfier seats but closed at midnight.  TOP TIP if you have to spend the night at JFK get there early for a straight bench in T4.  The Delta flight to Miami was cheapo EasyJet style and I had to pay for 2nd breakfast.  So I had lunch at the airport as I thought the Colombian airline would be cheapskates too. But surprise!!  Had a nice 2nd lunch on the Avianca flight to Cartagena.  I think thatīs enough food for today, my body clock is dismayed by it all - going east is definitely easier on the metabolism.  Hopefully I wont wake quite so early tomorrow or need quite so many meals. Now Iīm going in search of a beer to celebrate getting my 90 day visa "because Iīm English" and therefore a desirable alien.
