Not much else to say about KK, as we were just there for a night. Next stop: the beach at the tip of Borneo
We spent a few hours in Sandakan with our new travel buddies (!) and then the four of us took a flight to Kota Kinabalu. We were separated for a few hours, while Kyla and I explored the numerous markets. At one (sadistic) market, vendors had all sorts of live fish in tanks and passersby could point to a fish and get it gutted and cooked right there. We wimped out of that experience, mostly because I just read The Hunger Games. Instead, we met up with (or stalked) our travel friends at a surprisingly good Italian restaurant (sorry Steph-we took a night off from Asian).
