The frequency of my travelogue entries has dropped dramatically due to the fact that teaching has taken over my life!! Right now, I'm coming at you from the computer room of Australian Pacific College, where I teach English five days a week to Elementary and Pre-Intermediate level students. I somehow survived the end of the semester and am officially on holiday from uni, but it doesn't really feel like it. I don't really have any more free time than when classes were in session! Instead I teach from 9 am - 1:15 pm, and then lesson plan all afternoon. Sometimes I get to work an extra hour doing exciting things like monitoring the computer lab, as I am now. By the time I get home, I'm too tired to do much of anything other than plop my ass down on my uncomfortable sofa and watch my favourite hour of Australian television: Neighbours and Home & Away. Which means that I haven't been able to be the greatest tour guide for Pam, who ends up amusing herself during the day by going on souvenir shopping sprees at Paddy's Market 1- Sydney Harbour

. Thankfully, we're leaving the crazy city life behind tomorrow and running away to a tropical island. Great Keppel Island, off the coast of Queensland, to be exact. For five days I'm going to try to forget that I'm an English teacher and just relax on the beach. And hopefully it will be quite a bit warmer than it's been in Sydney lately. It's freezing here, especially in my apartment! You'd think that the Sydney winter would feel like summer to me after the days of standing in the snow scanning tickets in Breckenridge, but I'm not the tough mountain girl I once was. I think I've gone soft and adjusted to the climate. Now I'm just as confused by the weather as the Sydney-siders who run around in Ugg boots and mini skirts or wool scarves and flip flops.

Well, it's just about time to close up shop. I have so much more to share with you all but it will have to wait till another day. Preferably another day I'm getting paid to check my e-mail.
