I can hardly believe that I'm on the eve of another trip already! Who would've thought that these past 12 months would've ended up like this? I've managed several overseas and domestic trips in such a short space. I don't know what I'll do with myself after this, I guess I'm making up for the inevitable slow-down in personal travel that I will experience when I enter the real world after this, my final year, of university. All that said (or rather, typed) it's not as though I'm not planning a bit of travel in the coming 12 months. After this Europe adventure I have the university field trip to Japan in June to look forward to. Beyond that and my travel future is hazy. Rest assured that if you're reading this you'll no doubt be kept up to date with my travels as they happen, through this blog.

Back to the trip at hand, it's now 23 hours until my scheduled departure and a busy 23 hours they will be. Today is of course Australia Day so I'm off to celebrate this evening and farewell a few friends. Tomorrow morning Charles (my brother) and my aunt, uncle and 2 cousins on my mother's side all arrive back home from Tokyo so I'll be part of the welcoming and pick-up party at 7am. We then have a short period of family time before Dad needs to be dropped back at the airport for a late-morning flight to Carnarvon for work. It's then once again back home for lunch and then we're off once again, for my turn at the airport. Mum's the one that loses out here; always going to the airport but never getting on a plane.

Have I packed? No. Am I prepared? Yes, kind of. Do I agree with Kings of Leon's 'Sex on Fire' winning the Hottest 100? No.

On that note I shall leave you in anticipation (hopefully) of the next entry, which should come from Paris, or thereabouts. Stay tuned!
