Greetings and hello from Tashkent. Life is going good here and I'm finally at a high speed internet cafe and can send you pictures along with my updates...wohoo!!
Russian classes are coming along good, although it's so hard to congugate a whole sentence and am definitely having a hard time writing the cyrillic! We are officially at our halfway point of training and I will be finding out my permanent site on March 11. I will also be going to another Uzbek city for a PCV visit for one week on this date. I have yet to find out about either destinations. The climate here is finally warming up a bit and you will eventually see more pictures of me without the massive coat and scarf on. Yes, it has been VERY cold here and even by northern U.S. terms. Anyway, my host family is great and we love trying to converse. The stomach ailments have ceased (thank god) and I feel very healthy. I get more than enough exercise daily...in fact just for the fun of it last night I was curious to see how well I could do a few situps. Well, I didn't even feel like I was exerting any energy until I reached about 40! So, i just went on up to 100 and was still doing great! That has not been the case for me in a long time... So, no need to worry about me here. I feel safe and the P.C. really takes great care of us. I have really enjoyed the emails you have been sending and the news articles of late. I really miss being connected to the outside world. Not much else to update you with right now other than a bunch of pictures...so I hope you enjoy and I will share more stories later.
