Hong Kong Day One
Well today I went to New York City, also known as Hong Kong. We docked and we were in this huge mall. It is supposedly one of the biggest malls in Asia or something. All I could think about was how jealous Katherine and Kim would be if they only knew. With in my first hour here I had already run into three Gucci stores and lord knows I wasn't going out of my way to find them. Well today we got off the boat and I spent the day with my friend Jen. Maggie had gone to the city orientation but since it was my only day in Hong Kong I decided to hit the points I really wanted to see. Jen and I went to Nathan Road first. It is like the famous shopping street here. All I could think about was Ryan I think that if he died and went to heaven it may very well be Nathan road in Hong Kong. We spent a while here and got a good breakfast because it was the first time in a while we were allowed to eat everything. After that Jen and I decided to take the bus over to Stanley harbor. It was an hour bus ride but was well worth the two dollars we paid. It was a double Decker bus and being the tourist we were we bolted for the front seat on the second deck. The driver was crazy I felt like I was on a roller coaster ride and he was constantly about to hit the car in front of us. I really enjoyed the ride because it was all along the coast and we drove through a lot of the area where the locals live. We got to the harbor and decided to hit the market first. We went around to all the stands and had a great time perfecting our bargaining skills. My favorite purchase was my new silk sheets. After that we strolled along the water and we ran into this little Italian place and decided to stop for pizza. It was so good. It was right on the edge of the harbor and a great lunch. After that we went to look at the temples that surrounded the harbor. Here I found my favorite one. You had to walk up tons of steps to this little place and all the sudden you ran into this little hutch that was on a cliff over looking the water. It was so peaceful. I felt like it would be a great place to reflect. After looking at the temple we headed back to the boat to meet Maggie and Beth. After meeting them we decided to walk a little around town and then get some dinner. We walked the streets of Hong Kong and it was awesome. The skyline was so beautiful with all the lights. We went to outback. Humm I wonder whose decision that was. After that we had a night out on the town before it was off to Beijing.
