Singapore day two
What a day, Today I went around Singapore and did quite a bit of self exploring. We first went around to many of the temples, mosque, and churches. I was very impressed with the blending of the cultures. I was amazed that in this one city where such great structures for all the religions were. I took a couple of good pictures but I didn't really want to disturb the people worshiping. That is another thing I find shocking here. I feel like there are so many people at the temples from dawn till late in to the night. Even though we do not have common beliefs it is still moving on a spiritual level to see their devote devotion. I think that Singapore is like no other place in the world. There is such an immense blend of all the culture and its not like at home where cultures blend and become one. Each culture is very traditional, so they don't really combine but live harmoniously together side by side. After that Maggie and I had quite a bit of time before our next trip so we decided to do some independent exploring. We wanted to just get lost. We browsed around and went to this one place that is famous for their electronic sales. It was pretty cool and I was tempted to make a couple of purchases but I restrained. We then stumbled upon an internet café so we poped in I called my parents and Ryan. We then came upon a market that seemed more of a local place. So we went around. It was cool. Some of the smells from the weird food caught me off guard but I just kind of halled by them. I made a couple of small purchases. Then it was time for our night safari. I was a little skeptic because I didn't really expect to see much. When we arrived we had a buffet style dinner in under this wooden structure that had no walls. I popped in to the restroom which had to be one of the coolest parts. Although it was separated, It was open. There was no roof so you could see the sky in your stall. Instead of walls around the whole room they had fake ran so you couldn't really see in. I saw so many animals. I was impressed. We took a tram ride first and then Maggie and I went on a walking trail. It was a little bummer that we couldn't really get pictures because of course flash photography wasn't allowed but I am sure many of the images are well stored in my head. It was raining but that didn't stop our enjoyment. I am really surprised there aren't more nocturnal zoos in other places. It was so cool because the animals didn't even look confined. It seemed as if you could pet them. There was everything from lions and tiger to hyenas and anteaters. Needless to say it was a unique experience.
