Hello all,
I love Singapore. It is amazing. We just got off the boat for a little bit and it was so cool. Everything is so clean and IN ENGLISH. I could stay here a while. I think I may do some intense shopping here. All the taxis were Mercedes and all the cars drove on the left side it was pretty cool if you ask me. We are going on the city orientation today so I will add to this when I get back. I am back for the night and it was a long day. This city orientation was fun but I felt like a lot was crammed in. We went to a beautiful botanical gardens. There was mostly orchids here which happen to be one of my favorite flowers so I was quite thrilled. I took lots of pictures of the flowers. We then went to this shop like thing here they make these like 3D paintings. They grind little stones down and than but them together to make this picture. If I am wealthy one day there was one of a boat I would like to come back and get it. I took some pictures of them so I will share them later. Next stop was little India. Here the most striking thing was the smells. I saw many women getting fitted for their Indian outfits in some of the stores. Next stop was china town. We spent only a small amount there because we only popped in to see the temple. I wasn't to distraught though because I was going to return later that evening. Well after that I went to the boat to change. We then headed out for our night in china town. It was so much fun. First we went to a museum that taught us about how and why the Chinese came to Singapore in the first place. We saw what there typical living quarters were and it was so sad. A family of 6 would like live in the small cramped room and like 10 families would share a kitchen. Next it was a higher note. We went to dinner. I had the most amazing egg rolls. It was a 7 course meal. I tried lots of things, including one of the fish that was so spicy. Then we walked around and shopped a little while. I spotted some street performers. I watched them and they were amazing. There was one contortionist lady that bent her body in ways I could never imagine. Next was my favorite part. The rickit ride. It was like a bike connected to two seats and me and Maggie got on. We thought we might die at points. We were going so fast and then we went on like a main road and there were cars right behind us. Then it was off to the river. We had a little time to walk around the center there which had amazing architecture. Then we went on a bump boat right up the river. It was so cool to see the contrast of the river and city. Then we went out to this club called zoo. It was not really my style. It was so packed and I felt like I couldn't move. It was an interesting experience though because that is apparently what's cool to do in Singapore.
