Where I stayed
Lufthansa Flight 510 FRA - EZE
What I did
plenty of good food and some turbulences
'friends with benefits'
A long day at the Frankfurt Airport and our adventure was yet to begin. Boarding at 21.30 allowed us some hours of relaxing and put a big smile on our faces as did the food (thanks again, Iberia - but we will check our claim possibilities anyway ;).
14 hours flight to Buenos Aires, that was almost the same number of hours we spent at Frankfurt Airport. So, what to expect? ...just sitting, watching, relaxing, being served and above all: Sleeping!! Instead of carrying, running and the continouus ''sorry, but I am not in charge and I don't know who might be able to help you". Good foresight!
So we redeemed our last dinner voucher and recharged ours, and the phone's batteries on the fabulous relaxing chairs of the Lufthansa Lounge
First thought, when the seat next to us was taken was.. dispappointment, that disappeared when our seat neighbour Trudy was incredibly kind and told us a lot about Argentina. Meanwhile we got comfortable in our seats and discovered the film options until the dinnner was served (salat *** tagliatelle with sage butter covered with parmesan ***chocolate fudge cake) .... hmm... Lufthansa quality, just like the down pillow, the height-neck-angle adjustable head cushion and the in-seat-touch-screen with personal film & audio choice.
Yes, just as we finished the first movie, decided that life was treat ing us well indeed and closed our eyes to sleep we were shaken awake just above the equator. Some up- and down airstreams decided that if sleeping was not as necessary as we thought; and while being impressed for the first hour we finally got cradled to sleep by those turbulences and woke up - just some 1000 miles above Brasil and enjoyed the scrambeld eggs with fired potatoes, spinach and a fresh roll with a Bauer yoghurt. We could not avoid quetioning ourselves what the Iberia meals might had been but decided that fate was on our side that day
Landing, border control and customs (no complains about Laeso Salt, Sumerbird Almonds or Dates, Mum!) were passed quickly and after we got our luggage (we really need to leave some old stuff behind before leaving Buenos Aires again) we cashed the necessary Argentinees Peso and searched the ideal transfer to our apartment. Quickly we found and booked a shuttle for 35 Eurs, probably first of many times being ripped off by locals :)
However, it was time to arrive after a long journey and as Ana, from who we' re hiring the apartment was alreay awaiting us... and so we arrived at the apartment, being not so homeless anymore. At least for one month ;)
So now it's time to explore the city, our neighbourhood and our apartment and get a goooooooooooood rest.
More from us after we've been sleping, eating, reading and ...relaxing :)
And for those who prefer starting reading at the end (to make the long story short):
--> we got safely and in 1 piece to Buenos Aires, all good!!
hugs & kisses from Captain Jörgen and Co-Pilot Maria
