Where I stayed
We pulled into the resort and were VERY happy. We are right by the beach and there is also a pool. Decisions, decisions. Life is very hard right now! Well you guessed it, after a breif recky we headed to the beach which is where we stayed for the rest of the day. There were small stingrays and fishes. Really cool.
The next day we woke up to a slightly overcast day so we went to the Everglades for an airboat tour and 'Alligator wrestling' display at Gator Park. The airboat ride was fun but nothing on the Huka Jetboat ride ;-) We saw one alligator called Lily and a baby alligator too
On the 17 July we spent the morning in the pool and then we were off for a snorkelling trip. It was amazing. We went past loads of flash houses worth 3-6 million on one side and 7-10 million on the other. Each had their own jetty and some expensive boats. Our guide reckoned he hadn't ever seen them in the water. Our favourite was called the Sweet Janine and was worth $3 million. To fuel her cost $3000 a time! One day huh! :-) Anyway, we went out for about 3 miles and got plonked on a reef. It didn't have quite the clarity or variety as Taba Heights but it was awesome.
On Saturday we hit the road again for a drive down to Key West. The speed limits tend to be between 45 and 55mph so it took about 2.5 hours. It is a really nice scenic drive down and when we arrived we headed to the Southern Most Point in the USA. We spent the rest of the day wandering around and took in the Shipwrecked museum. It is a really funky little town and it would be nice to go there and chill for a few days with $1 beers! But alas we had to head back to the Hilton as it was our last night before our next adventure to Orlando. We were sorry to say goodbye but not to all the additional charges. Parking was $12 a night and if we wanted internet it was $12 a day! Things could add up fast. The Hilton was fantastic though, the beds were so comfortable, we had a lounge area and 2 TV's! Insane!
The next day we packed up and head off up to Orlando.
