This green portion of Malaysia is worth writing a book about. It's certainly a breath of fresh air, and I don’t mean it only metaphorically – it is fresh and cool. Small local towns and villages are resting several hundred meters above the sea level, peacefully hugged by the jungle and tea plantations. Finally, I escape for a few days from the heat and humidity.

Once again, I make a great choice by picking Kang’s (Daniel’s) Lodge to sleep. Maybe not the best room I had so far, but friendly staff, cozy lounge and exclusive Jungle Bar with the stone fire at the back what makes it count. Also, I met some incredible travelers in there and had a brilliant time.

On the second day I booked all day tour in surrounding areas of Tanah Rata. Altogether it was eleven of us plus two crazy drivers (one of them was also a guide for a day). Our adventures started once we took a slip road into the jungle; suddenly it became clear why we were taken by two 4X4. That was extreme and thrilling off-road experience through the relentless jungle. First boost of adrenalin was followed by two hours proper trekking up the hill, slowly making our way to see the largest blossom in the world. Eventually, all hard work was rewarded by a swim in a cool waterfall.

In the afternoon we were taken to much more relaxing places, such as a tea plantation where we had a lovely cup of tea, Butterfly Farm – not too many butterflies though, but I know what its like to have 5 scorpions crawling across my body, and Strawberry Farm, the last stop of the day where we enjoyed fresh glass of strawberry juice, of course. All this for approximately 15.00 was a bargain indeed.

To sum up, I truly enjoyed adventurous few days in Cameron Highlands, I enjoyed every breath of air I was sucking in and every moment I was sharing my experience with other wonderful travelers sitting around the stone fire in the evening.
