I received a request for more blog entries so this is for you Adele!
It is Wednesday morning. Tim and I are sipping our coffee on the back deck watching the blue jays ( Costa rican Style) pick away at our screen and tap on the windows. Lynn's coffee machine is broken so she is walking back and forth attempting to make more coffee in our machine and also get ready for her big day....the Jenkins are heading to Samara for a day of sightseeing . We may join them for supper at the end of the day but with only 2 days left in Nosara we are hesitant to leave our sweet space.
A couple of days ago Lynn and I tried our hand or should i say "feet" at surfing
We manged to get up on the board quite often and only swalled a couple of gallons of salt water in the process. Tim, Max, Tayor, and Kennedy have been renting the boards most days following their lesson and improving their technique. They are becoming surfing addicts!
Two nights ago we all headed to the Beachdog Cafe for a New Years Eve celebration. Most of us had the Tower of Turkey which was quite yummy. We then headed off to the Balck Sheep Pub located about 30 minutes away in the mountains. It was quite the adventure getting there...too many peaople squished into one car with the only directions being a a hand drawn map on a piece of paper....did I mention that there are NO Signs for this place. Kim was the DD and he did a great job getting us there.
The Black Sheep is run by an older American gentleman named Joe. It looks like a Costa Rican Villa on the outside however once you enter you are transported back in time to an Authentic Irish Pub . Joe had at least 6 different draft available to choose from and welcomed us in and suggested we sample before we make our final decision
There was a band playing from San Jose and as the night progressed the place became quite packed until by the end of the evening there were approx 200 folks consisting of foreigners and locals , all having a great time. By 12;30AM after the fireworks ,the adults had to DRAG the reluctant kids away from the party...apparently I lost some of my "Cool Aunt" status in the process :)
Yeatreday my good bookclub buddy, Karen and her hubby , Jon and 3 sons, Ben, Sam, and Max joined us at Villa Belitzia for an afternoon of surfing lessons. The Angel Famly is staying in Playa Ostinal and made time for us before they headed off to Manual Antonio today.
The boys and Jon were naturals and surfed most of the afternoon while Karen and I took pictures and frocklicked in the waves. Thankfully Karen was there to rescue me when a particularly big wave threatened to take my bathing suit top away with it...it was a bit of a giggle!!
That evening we headed to "The Gilded Iguana" for supper. They had a local band playing background tunes and the place was hopping. There were numerous gecho's including one that was situated on the middle of the big screen TV.The meal was great then the Angel Family set off and The Upton Family walked the 15 minute trek back via dark trails to our house-thankfully we had flashlights
Before I sign off I did want to mention that Tim, Lynn and myself have become YOGA fans. Nosara is known for it's excellent training programs thus there are a plethora of Yoga Studio's offering any kind of Yoga imaginable. Tim and I attended a class yesterday which included "Ohmmmming!"
Today we are planning to attend an "Arial" Class which involves ropes suspended from the rafters- don't worry I plan to bring my phone and will attempt to discretely take a few pictures of Tim - I'll include them in the next blog entry ;)
That's all for now. It's time for oatmeal .
