Sao Paulo is BIG. 20M people, second biggest city in the Americas (after Mexico City) and among the five largest metropolitan areas of the planet. Where do you even start? Appropriately enough, in a Formula 1 Hotel from where we drove nearby to a Japanese restaurant for all you can eat sushimi and sushi. With parking a premium, you drive to the front door of the restaurant where you hand your car over to the parking person who runs that territory. He goes off and finds a park while you enjoy dinner. When you leave he gets your car, you pay him a few dollars and off you go. By using his services you also ensure that nothing happens to your car!
Generally, Brazil is booming and while the wealth will never reach everybody, the minimum wage has doubled in the last few years so if corruption could be eradicated - a virtual impossibility - then Brazilians standard of living would increase tenfold.
The next morning we took a taxi out of town to the airport and left wonderful Brazil - and a big hole in our budget - behind us.
