A realatively early start to the day as we were being picked up at 8 to start a full tour of the Argentine side of the falls.

Whilst some of the trails commence right in the grounds of the hotel we went up the road to the train station to meet a bigger group of people doing the same tour of the falls as we were.

That entailed taking the small train down to the Devils throat walkway which is as close to overwhelming as anything we've previously seen, the volume of water and sheer size of the drop is absolutely spectacular.

You do get pretty wet though although that is nothing compared to the boat trip to the base of the falls later in the day. We were last on and sat right at the back which is the part that cops most of the wake and spray so ended up absolutely drenched as the driver manoeuvred the boat right under the St Martin falls.

We couldn't take one of the walks as it has been closed for a couple of weeks due to a puma in the area, they come down to prey on the coati's (little possum like animals - see the photos) and until they can move the puma on the trail has to stay closed. Didn't see any sign of said puma but did see lots of coati's and many species of butterfly.

There are monkey's around as well and you have to keep the balcony doors close or they will get in. Not that you'd open the door anyway as the monkeys are nothing compared to the mozzies!
We sadly didn't see any of the monkeys but did hear them last night.

Accommodation report - building looks like a bad seventies soviet era building on the outside but is nice enough inside with absolutely spectacular falls views. They do have you captive though and you pay a fortune for food and drinks.

Weather report - still clear and getting hotter, must have been low 30's by the time we got back to the hotel in the late afternoon and the pool was most welcome....

We have the Brazilian side of the falls to see tomorrow which is a half day tour on the afternoon followed by a trip to the airport on the Brazilin side for the four hour flight to Lima.

This is typed with a degree of haste and some reluctance as we are paying for the bloody Internet! You can get limited and very slow free connection in the lobby but if you want anything remotely good, get out your wallet!
