I arrived back in London and started looking for a job. I managed to scam an interview with one of the top banks of London. They asked me what area I specialised on and I told him that I was a rooting expert. Him thinking I meant routing expert, he hired me on the spot !!!!! To celebrate, as Australia were playing France in Paris, I booked a trip with PP Travel. Only one problem, the trains were sold out and I had to catch a bus. So I had some beers and jumped onto it. We went to the ferry and rode over. Tried to get some sleep once we were back on the bus, but it didn't work. At the hotel, I had a quick sleep and that didn't work either so as we were in the Montmarte area, I had a walk around and then it was time to jump on the bus again and headed over to Stade de France. Home of the World Cup of soccer in 98. It was amazing. This was one of the best stadiums I had had the pleasure to sit in. The only problem though was that they sold non-alcoholic beer inside !!!!! Well, we won the game and then we went into Paris and hit some bars. We tried the Aussie bar, but it was to crowded so we went to the Firken pub just down the road from it. Things were going nicely until a girl decided to spill my beer over me. With this effort, the bouncer decided I was going to be chucked out. Me, I had never been forcibly removed from any establishment in my life. So a tug of war took place. The Aussies were holding/pulling me back in whilst the bouncers were trying to drag me out. The bouncers won, so I walked the streets of Paris, a desolate lonesome sole, going from bar to bar, until I found one near Gare du Nord with a bit of life. One of the barman, had a fresh black eye. The police arrived and he was questioned. Fingers were pointed, and then the 2 Gendarmeries ran across the road complete with a barman and they started questioning some guy across the road. After about 15 seconds, the talking turned into yells, followed by fists and boots. Not only the police but the barman was joined in. Some more police turned up, but the damage was done and from what I gathered, the suspect was then arrested for resisting arrest !!!!! Not much more happened, I stumbled into my hotel room and slept. After I arrived back in England the next day, I decided there and then I would never catch a bus into Europe again
