We started driving along the coast, stopping here and there to have swims on the coast. The reason being, even though this was April, when we headed inland, it was going to get colder. We stopped off at Kas where they had a delightful little Greek amphitheatre and some beautiful secluded bays that you needed a scooter to get to, which, by chance, we had, so we went off sight seeing. It was a lovely little town and the beer was cold, so as dinner came, we went to a little restaurant with Glenn and Jewls. Being the type of people that Lucy and I are, we ate traditional food. Jewls, seeing that they served pasta, asked for pesto pasta. This would be easy, pasta with pesto on it. Our dinners came, Jewls pasta arrived, no pesto though, just four cloves of garlic !!!!! We set off the next morning to get to Olympos. Upon arriving, we once again set our tents up and then went for a swim and walked around the old ruins, long since forgotten as they were overgrown. Were they Greek or Turkish or something long forgotten, no one could answer this question for us. After dinner, we went for a walk to see the flames of Olympos. It's a pleasant walk in the evening air, and eventually you arrive and there are flames just spontaneously combusting out of the ground. It was a bit of a spin out actually. Cover the hole and put the flame out, uncover the hole and the flame self ignites. Its quite eerie actually seeing these flames there all on their own. Supposedly, the original Olympic flame came from here. Who knows, good story anyway
