Amsterdam in October is another world. Back in August, the main road down from Centraal Station was jam packed with people, now it was empty. It was a lot cooler now and the tourists had all gone home. Realising there was not much more here, we set off to riding towards the coast and then onto Belgium. Upon arriving in the Delta area of The Netherlands, we encountered the strongest headwinds that we have ever cycled into. This day would have to rate with one of the hardest/worst days of cycling we had encountered. We cycled on for a little way and we made our camp at Duinrell. This a campground with amusement park and water park. A day spent playing and it was time to go down the coast to Belgium. We entered into Belgium and the first port of call for us was Brugges. Chocolate town. Everywhere were shops selling chocolate. Lucy was in heaven and didn't want to leave, but realising that time was not on our side, we bought up and moved on and went looking for a campground. What happened next ???? We could not find any campgrounds open. We knocked on a few doors, and finally one opened. When we were offered the price, we put our hands into our pockets and came up with 150 Belgium Francs. They wanted over 500, but as the campground was closed for the winter and this is all we had and there was no hot water, they accepted this amount of money. We made our tents and bed and went to sleep. The next morning, we continued on into France and made our next stop in Gravelines underneath a shadow of a nuclear power plant!!!! I'm home Homer!!!! The next morning, we made our way to Calais. Bought our ferry tickets and proceeded to catch the ferry over to Dover. What joy to see the white cliffs
