Once packed, we loaded the bike boxes into the car and headed off in the direction of Geneva. Now it wasn't really a long drive towards the airport, even not taking the toll roads, so we wanted to find something else to do, and according to the book, Annecy sounded nice, and as it wasn't far from the airport, we headed on over.

We parked up and had a walk into the old town. There was a chalet, but with a massive queue, loads of little lane-ways and quite a few canals. In the middle of one canal was what looked like a little castle but was in fact the old jail, but you could not enter !!! There were also a few churches and a massive lake which you could take a ferry ride around, but we didn't have the time for that, so we went back to the car and headed off again.

Now we had hired our car in France at the Geneva airport and we followed signs to the airport but they ended up taking us to the Swiss side, so all we could do was go there, find the car hire place and ask for info. We were given some directions, but these did not help, so we drove around in circles for half an hour before we found the French side of Geneva. What a fucking nightmare !!! So we marked in on the GPS for next time !!!
