There are sayings in life, that we all know

Homer - D'oh
The Fonz - Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Fred Flintstone - Yabba dabba dooooooooooooo
Arnie - I'll be back
Kyle  - You killed Kenny, you bastard

The last one has always interested me, and I decided it was time to find the origin of the saying.

It was the usual mad dash to Stansted, hop on an early flight, land at Dublin and pick up a car. Normally, I use Hertz, but through the BT intranet, I found a cheaper deal, so I took it. At the counter, I was informed that 800 Euros was being taken from my account as a form of a deposit. It was pointless fighting it, so I watched the money being withdrawn and accepted the fact. I was given the keys, and we found this weeks shitter. It was a real family truckster thing. A Peugeot 407. I had asked for another Fucos, but was given this huge mother. Oh well, turned the key, and we were off. Ed did give us the old, I never fall asleep again, and within seven minutes, both him and Lucia were fast asleep !!! To say the weather was good, would be a lie. Unlike last time's glorious sunshine, it was pissing down with rain. A couple hours later, we had arrived in the town of the saying.

Kilkenny

We drove in and it appeared quite quaint. On one side was a huge castle. We parked up, walked through the parks to get there, across the grass, and was finally yelled at as I was walking on the grass !!! And then we bought some tickets. Now you can only do a tour of the castle with a guide, and you are not allowed to take photos, which we accepted. Zento found this strange and told me that this had never happened in Spain, but this was somewhere new, and we have seen this before, so we accepted what we had bought. Basically, the castle had been in the hands of the Butlers for years, and eventually it fell into disrepair, and it was sold to the local governmnt for £50. Bargain. They took quite a few years to restore it, but they did do a good job. The tour ended in the long  gallery, which we were told was the second longest room in Ireland. She did say where the first longest was, but I was pissing myself with laughter at her use of English, but then again, I was in Ireland and maybe this is the way they speak here !!!After the tour, we had a walk around the outside, before we went for lunch. The food was ok, but we washed it down with the local beer, which happened to be Kilkenny !!! It was pretty good. Straight after, we took a walk up to St Mary's Cathedral, which was ok, but not as good as St Canice's Cathedral. They were charging to get in, but a concert has just finished, so I just merged in with the crowd and paid nothing. There were some really nice stain glass windows and loads of the Butler family were buried inside. Outside in the graveyard, there were loads of the Smithwick family buried. The reason being is that there is another beer here, Smithwicks. Across from the graveyard was a 30 metre round tower just begging to be climbed. They say it's the oldest structure in Kilkenny, so we paid up, and went up. There were some good views of the town as well. It was getting late, so we went back down, and made our way back to the car as we still had another drive, but that's a different story

It had been fun to come and see who killed Kenny, which didn't happen as I only had one pint, so maybe I need to hit the Smithwicks next time, because this time to drink a pint was not part of the plan, so it just means I need to come back for a Smithwicks moment, and maybe in a moment of drunken madness, I might just understand the you killed Kenny term
