After a flight from Goa to Mumbai, a couple days spent in a right shit expensive hotel, which cost US$50 but was only worth $4.00, we jumped on a plane that would take us to Singapore. As soon as we were on it, there was a marked difference in the staff on the plane. The hostesses were happy to serve. After four hours, we were in Singapore. A quick stop over and we were on our way to Sydney. Once landed, my mother picked us up. We dumped our bags in my old room, and a sense of normality in my life appeared for the first time in fuck knows. Yeah, I was yellow and felt like shit, but we were in a second world country, where people drove correctly !!! I went to see a local doctor, but as soon as I mentioned that I had Hep E, he freaked and kicked me out of his surgery and told me to go to hospital. I had better service in India !!! At the hospital, they said that my Hep had gone down but I was still sick. They told me to chuck away my medication and let my liver/kidneys repair themselves. I accepted this, and let my mother and Lucy fight over the right to look after me !!!
Realising that my mother was winning, Lucy booked a ticket and went to Melbourne to visit her mum instead. Better for her, as I was not much fun. It is quite a heavy thing to have, the old Hep E. One minute you are feeling good, and then the next, you're feeling like shit. So, I tried to sit back and relax and take it easy. My mum and her partner, Kevin, took me up the coast to visit Phil Hitchcock. For the majority of you who don't know him, he is a legendary man in the world of old Ducatis (www.roadandrace.com.au). He also has one of my Ducatis, which he has had for ten years. It was good to hear that it was still going strong, as he rides it on club runs.
On the other hand, I have also passed my CV out to a few agencies. Amazingly, out of five applications, I so far have had one interview, and I have another two in a couple of days time. The interview that I did have was quite hard. Having not touched a router for eight months, answering questions on BGP was a real mind fuck !!! The rates are ok, but I don't really know if I want to work in Aus. I still have a hankering to go back to either the UK or try and break into the Euro market. But as this will not being happening for a while, I am trying to push this into the back of my mind, but it is slightly hard as my motivation for doing anything at present, is pretty low at this moment in time.
But before I do leave Aus again, I hope to catch up with as many friends as possible. So far, the list reads none, but we will try to change that in the next couple of days !!!
